I'm not sure how many people read this blog, since I rarely get comments anymore. But, I'll continue writing just so that I can remember what's been going on in our lives. This February we enjoyed several events, from a Vietnamese New Year's Party ("Tet"),
to taking a drive in the mountains,
to having fellowship with Japanese brothers and sisters in Boulder, as well as my ongoing living room painting projects,
in addition to Penny's homeschooling and Jay spending the first full month at his new school for the Spring semester. Another very fun outing was to finally meet another adoptive family whom I've gotten to know over the past few years who have three kids also adopted from Thailand.
We had a GREAT time and really enjoyed getting to know Kim and Jeremy as well as the kids better. It was so cute to hear that the kids had been asking ahead of time if Kim thought Penny might like to play with them. When she did play with them, they were thrilled! Afterwards, I asked Penny if it made her still want to have a little sister. She said, "I think I'll pass." Must have been tired out by the very energetic twin girls! She did say that the boy was nice and quiet, so maybe she might consider a little brother. Ha! That's new! But, if it's one thing I've learned, the tastes of my teenage daughter are EVER changing! Whenever one of the grandparents ask me what Penny likes, I have to honestly tell the, "I have no idea, because it might change in one minute." Fortunately, she's beginning to enjoy her homeschool etc. enrichment group more, gradually. Yesterday was the first day she ever really wanted to talk about her morning there. She was SO excited about her costume for the musical, which is coming up in April. For some reason, hers had some beautiful embroidered flowers, that most of the other costumes didn't have and it truly made her feel extra special. She even tried showing me part of the musical. Next week, she'll be staying later to do some extra practice for the dance number she's in.
