For those who are slow to move over

Here's a post for those who are hestitating to move over to viewing our vox blog. Please have no fear! It's easy to use. All you have to do is sign up as a member with your own password (FREE). If I can't talk you into it then perhaps you may change your minds when we start posting pictures of our future daughter on the other site. That won't be for a while. SIGH! After all we have 4-10 months left before the Thai government will contact us with the invitation to travel there. And, until then, we are not supposed to post any public photos our beautiful princess.

Good news! Today we got our 300 some cookbooks that we are planning to sell as a fundraiser for our adoption. Please let us know if you'd like to buy one. They're $8 plus $2 for shipping/handling. Well, gotta go and post on our other vox site. Again, let us know if you'd like to view that one.

We're moving to Vox.com The reason is that we don't want to the whole to search at our blog and see the pictures of Penny that we'll be posting once we get her. If you want to be able to view our blog you'll need to become a member and to get your own password to log on. Sorry for the hassle. But, we want to be more safe and secure in the cyber world. I Want Penny Here Now!

Those were the words of my niece today when she was staying at my mom's house. The older one, Amanda, is really starting to catch on to the idea of adoption. When they first tried to explain it to her she said, "Oh, that's kind of like adopting a dog." Last week when she was at Grandma's house they were watching Sesame Street and they did a whole story about an international adoption. She seemed to soak it all in. And after that was when she said, "I want Penny here now." She said, "Why can't Jay and Chandra just get in the airplane and go get her now?" Oh, how we wish it were that easy. But, then we wouldn't have enough time to learn some survival Thai and get Penny's room in order, would we? Today when she and Nicole were playing in the pool at Grandma's they were saying they wished Penny could be with them to play with them. Their eyes got kind of big when Grandpa said, "Maybe by next summer she'll be able to play with you in the pool." For the kids this waiting seems to be an eternity. Perhaps that's why our blog site is called, "Eternity minded". Gotta have a sense of humor through the long process of adoption! Here's a picture of the cute nieces.

Happy 4th of July to everyone! I'm dreaming of the day when our daughter will become an American. However, that won't even happen right away when she first arrives on American soil. That is because Thailand is one of those countries which will not allow the adoption to be finalized in their country. We have to wait for six months. During those first six months, technically, our child will be under the custody of WACAP. So, we are only granted guardianship of our child. So, six months after she comes home we'll need to take Penny to a Thai consulate to have the adoption approved by the Thai government. And then it will be finalized in court in Denver after that. Right now we're planning on going to Chicago to get the Thai approval. Our choices were Chicago, New York, Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles. Well, since I (Chandra)lived for five years in Chicago and it is in the Midwest, we thought that would be the most logical choice. This will certainly be a long process. But, in the end, I'm sure it'll all be worth it. Above is the American flag and below is the Thai flag...

Whoopee! We just got the e-mail from Andrea saying that she mailed off our dossier to Thailand today. It should arrive in Bangkok this Saturday. That means it didn't spend very much time in the U.S. capitol, as we were told it would take the feds 2-3 weeks. I think it only ended up being about a week and a half. Yeah, maybe the Thailand government will speed things up, too.
