The third day of our trip was a Saturday. That day we decided to go to the Beautiful Rushmore Cave, which is located almost exactly across the road from the cabin where we were staying.
There were many beautiful flowers there.
And a fun waterfall near an area where you can "pan" for gold.
Here is a map of the cave you can view inside the gift shop, which is also where the entrance and exit doors are for the cave.
We entered the cave with our tour group, which was quite large. They weren't kidding when they put up the sign saying, "Please walk with care!"
There were many stairs to climb.
There were some fun rooms to explore.
Penny was excited to visit the first cave she's ever been in. It was especially fun with Grandpa.
Taller people, like Jay, had to duck their heads a lot! Jay said he must've hit his head a total of around
8-9 times!

By the time we made it out they said we had climbed about 850 stairs! The hike through the cave took an hour and was more challenging than we had expected. I actually started out feeling rather claustrophobic, but am glad that I made it through!
Here's a picture of Penny I took after we got outside. She may look distracted, because right after this, Jay was walking over to watch my dad and brother take a ride on the zip-line Eagle ride when he suddenly got stung by a bee!
So, we decided to head back to the cabin to take care of Jay's bee sting, rather than drive into Keystone, as we had originally thought about doing. As we were leaving we saw this family of wild turkeys.
Later, in the afternoon, it was so nice outside that we went outside and played some games of croquet.
Jay and I just enjoyed having time to spend together, without having to worry about work!
Then we started getting ready to have our outdoor BBQ that evening.
My dad did the grilling.

Jay got a nice fire going in the outdoor fireplace, which was nice, because the high temperature that day had only been 74 degrees.
Penny was excited to see deer nearby.

And then there was a little game of bean bag toss. My dad and brother are pros!
What a fun, relaxing evening to our third day of vacation!
