Change in Date

We've decided to now aim for Spring 2018 instead of this Spring to go to Japan.  Right about the time I had sent out our first newsletter announcing our plans, Jay ended up being sick and having to use up some of his precious PTO (part-time off) hours which we'd need to go on a short-term trip to Japan.  Besides, we decided that we needed more time to plan, prepare, pray and raise support.  Also, the pastors of the churches we are interested in partnering with said that it would work best for them to also wait until next Spring.  We do have to work around Penny's school schedule, as well.  She's hoping to go to Colorado Christian University starting this fall.  So, if she's accepted she'd be getting out of classes on May 11th.  So, we're aiming to leave sometime after that.  One of the places that we hope to serve at is a place where Chandra spent about 4 of her six and a half years in Japan, Odawara Christian Center. 

We're very excited that it's just been one month since we started on this new journey to hopefully lead us to Japan, but already we've been blessed by many people saying that they are going to be praying for and/or supporting us financially to help us get to Japan.  While, it'll only be a short-term trip, we pray that God will do great things.  We know that He is mighty and deserves all of the glory.  So, we are just excited to see how He wants to invite us to join Him in the work that He's already doing to pour out His love on the islands of Japan.
