Birthday Fun and Other Blessings

I feel very blessed, lately!  I got to celebrate my birthday with my husband and daughter by going out to Culver's.

That morning, before I went to work, Jay surprised me with a very nice pair of shoes.

That is a VERY special gift since buying shoes is SO difficult with my extremely narrow feet.  Later that night as we were driving to Culver's I was having trouble with my cheap-o cell phone and Penny said, "Mom, you need a new phone.  And wouldn't you know it?  Jay just so happened to get me a new cell phone.

Another blessing was knowing that Penny walked all the way to the store to get me my favorite, Angel Food Cake and strawberries for my birthday!

Another blessing was that we were able to sell Jay's car and to someone we knew through our former homeschool group.

It was kind of sad to see it go, as this was our honeymoon car.  But, we're so thankful that it's in good hands.  What was sad about it, was that the young man who bought it needed it because a woman destroyed his car by running a red light that morning.  But we all marveled at the perfect timing and that this young man had saved up the EXACT amount in his savings account that we were asking for for our car!  Isn't God good?  And we're thankful that the new owner wasn't injured in the car accident.

Another fun thing in March was getting to hear Jay sing in another Cherry Creek Chorale concert!

And one more exciting thing is that Penny got accepted to two colleges and has decided that she is planning on attending the one in downtown Denver for the Fall.

We had a good time touring the campus last Friday.  It was a nice, warm day, unlike the first time we visited, when it was 20 degrees and snowing!

We're trusting God to go with her and give her courage for all of the new challenges ahead with the big changes involved in transferring to a new school.  He'll guide her every step of the way, just as He has been providing everything each step of the way, so far.
