One year ago today we were flying across the Pacific Ocean to become parents for the first time ever. I remember waking up in the hotel room in Seattle thinking, "What in the world are we doing? How will I know how to parent a teenage girl from Thailand?" But, a year later we are growing closer and closer as a family every day. It was a good thing that we made plans to stop in Japan first as we needed that time for the political protesters to leave the airports in Bangkok. They reopened just days before we flew there from Japan. Our landing at Narita was the scariest one I've ever been in. It was like riding a bucking bronco as we landed in a terrible thunderstorm with driving winds with almost hurricane-like strength. Here are a few photos from our trip over as a couple without kids, yet.

I just can't believe it is a year. Doesn't the time home with them go so much faster than the time waiting for them to come home! I miss seeing you all!
