If Anyone Knows of a Family Who Could Adopt

I'm posting the message below from our adoption agency, WACAP, with hopes that someone may know of a family who would like to adopt a teenage daughter like my husband and I did. We could certainly serve as a support team and tell them that it's well worth it! Teens are not as scary as so many people make them out to be. It's so fun having a child whom you can share so much with, on a deeper level. So, please spread the word about another teen who is desperately hoping for a family. This precious child only has months left before she will age out of the system and no longer be eligible for adoption.

WACAP is currently in search of a family for a 13.5 year old girl. This girl has been at the orphanage since she was approximately 3 or 4 yrs. old and must be adopted before she turns 14. She is basically healthy and is post operative for a club foot. She needs a supportive family who will help her with her self esteem and assure her that she is lovable. She is described as a normal child who is in an age appropriate grade where she enjoys language. Reportedly her grades are average. When not at school, she enjoys doing crafts and reading. She shared with us that she has two best friends. She hasn’t decided what she wants to be when she grows up yet. She prefers to watch “drama” movies as she has bad dreams after seeing scary movies. She is described by her caretaker as easygoing, laid back, and not demanding. Her time is running out as she needs to be adopted before she is 14, when she will become ineligible for international adoption and lose the opportunity for a family.

Please reference Child ID #: XC.0597.16757.01. There is a $4200 Promise Child grant for this adoption. Additionally, the $250 application fee for this child has been waived.

Eligibility Exceptions: If you do not meet some of the eligibility requirements to adopt from her country, please contact WACAP's Family Finders department at: FamilyFinders@wacap.org as exceptions to some requirements are granted on a case-by-case basis for this group of children. Additionally, if you are interested in adopting two children at one time, please inquire as each situation is approved on a case-by-case basis.

If you - or anyone you know - might be interested, please contact our Family Finders department: FamilyFinders@wacap.org or 1-800-732-1887 for more information on this girl, or any of the many children around the world who are currently waiting for families.

As always, thanks for helping us spread the word about WACAP and find families for these deserving children.

Oh my goodness! This breaks my heart! Of course my mind immediately thinks, "Can we do this?". That's a CRAZY thought, because we CANNOT! :) I will pray for this sweet girl.

This breaks my heart, too. We can't either right now. Still hoping we can adopt a second child but now is not that time. It was wonderful of you to post about this and help. I will be praying too and hoping this girl gets a family before it's too late.
