Kid's Camp and Jay's Reunion

We just enjoyed an awesome time at our church's Kid's Camp (that's the modern term for what a lot of people know as VBS). It was a great week of learning and challenging kids to think about who Jesus is and why we should believe in Him. I (Chandra) had the fun role of being a shop keeper in ancient Athens.
Our shop was a scribe's booth.
We got to teach the kids about writing in the Greek language using ink. Penny was helping out in the nursery, although she missed out on the first day, because she was still in too much pain after recovering from getting all four of her wisdom teeth removed.
While she was home, the cat was loving on her.
Jay stayed home and continued to do a job search. We're praying that he'll find something soon. On the weekend we went up to Fort Collins for Jay's 30 year H.S. reunion.
I didn't feel quite as shocked this time around about how many people were bald or had gray hair. We even met a guy who ended up moving to the small town where many of my relatives live in SD.
Turns out he even knows my aunt who works at the bank, there. A highlight at the reunion was meeting up again with one of Jay's very best friends. Nathan and his wife, Scully, have an adorable little one-year-old girl, who was definitely the highlight that weekend.
It was special that the classmates also did a memorial walk-a-thon to raise money to help fight cancer, in memory of their classmate, who recently lost her battle to breast cancer last year.
Now that we're in July, I've just started up my new part-time job at the church as a receptionist. Penny and Jay have been holding down the fort at home. She's still doing a little homeschooling and helping out with chores at home. She's also been watering the garden at the neighbor lady's house nearby. Soon she'll have a summer babysitting job. We're trusting God for His continued direction in our lives. So thankful for all of the blessings He's given to us!
