God's miraculous ways

Jay came home before his concert last night feeling really down. He was overwhelmed not only by his workload but also by various things related to the adoption. He just felt like giving up. He was crying out to God and said that he felt just like the prophet, Elijah, who became very depressed. After throwing his fit towards his heavenly Father he went out to get the mail. And, just like God, there was a very unexpected letter right at that moment. It was a letter from some missionary friends of mine who had just left for Japan. They are from Boulder and have also adopted a girl with special needs from China. They were home to hear me share our story of how God seems to be directing us to adopt from a Thai orphanage. Here they sent us a check, along with a short letter, saying that they have a tradition of sharing a gift of blessing with others at Christmas time. However, this Christmas, since they were in Japan, they hadn't gotten around to sending us the gift. They said that our desire to adopt an orphaned girl from Thailand had touched their hearts. The words that meant a lot to Jay were: "We hope that this gift will be an encouragement as you experience the challenges that lie ahead." They went on to say, "Based on our own similar experiences and having witnessed the sovereign power of God in controlling the events of our lives, we are confident that you will always look upon this adoption as a wonderful blessing." And enclosed was a check for $1,000! What a gift! Our heavenly Father really does take care of us! And He often uses his family, our brothers and sisters, to lift us up and encourage us. And His timing is so incredible! Needless to say, Jay was very encouraged and much more relaxed at his concert last night. And I had to wait in suspense until we got home until he'd tell me what surprise was awaiting us at home. Thank you, God!
